STILL TIME TO ENROLL IN FALL CLASSES FOR ADULTS
LAWRENCE – Several Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department adult fitness and special interest classes begin next week with limited space available.

Beginning French, a class for ages 16 and up, is offered from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m., Mondays, Sept. 10 through Oct. 29 The cost is $42. Participants learn basic French, which is ideal for both business and travel. This course will focus on practical vocabulary and elementary grammar.

Core and More is for ages 16 and up and provides an exciting and challenging workout. The class incorporates intervals of jump rope, polymetrics, resistance bands and cone-drills to achieve the ultimate fat-burning workout. Core and More can be modified for all fitness levels and is offered from 6:45 to 7:40 p.m. on Thursdays, Sept. 11 through Nov. 1. The cost is $34.

Digital Scrapbooking teaches participants how to use Microsoft Word to import and edit digital images and arrange them into a photo album. Designed for ages 16 and up, the class is offered from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 12 through Oct. 17. The cost is $45.

Spanish Made E-Z teaches the basics of the Spanish language: ABC’s, numbers, colors, days of the week and much more in a fun and educational setting. Spanish Made E-Z is open to ages 16 and up and is offered from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 13 through Nov. 1. The cost is $42.

Zumba Interval, a fitness class for ages 16 and up, is offered from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Saturdays, Sept. 15 through Nov. 3. The cost is $30. Zumba Interval combines high energy and motivating music with unique dance moves and combinations designed to improve coordination, and increase cardio strength and flexibility. This class utilizes the principles of fitness intervals and resistance and strength training to ensure an all-over body workout.
