Friday, October 3, 2008REGISTRANTS NEEDED FOR KIDS ONLY GARAGE SALE
(LAWRENCE, Ks) – Dig out all those unwanted toys from inside the closet and underneath the bed. Lawrence Parks and Recreation will be hosting its first-ever Kids Only Garage Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Douglas County 4H Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper St., Building No. 1 and 2.
Kids, ages 6-16, will have the opportunity sell their unwanted, used toys, books, clothes and accessories. Profits from items sold will be kept by each individual seller.
Children wishing to participate in the garage sale must register in advance at a cost of $5. Those registered will be provided space to sell their items and a booth including one table and two chairs.
Registration for the Kids Only Garage Sale can be done online at www.lprd.org or by visiting any Parks and Recreation facility including: the Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr.; Lawrence Outdoor Aquatic Center; Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St.; the Administrative Offices, 947 New Hampshire St. or South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St.
