Wednesday, October 24, 2007EVENT REMINDER: SESQUICENTENNIAL POINT DEDICATION TODAY
LAWRENCE – The dedication of Sesquicentennial Point will be held at 4 p.m. today. The ceremony will be at The Point, located at 6000 W. 27th St., which is located on the City’s leased property from the U.S. Corps of Engineers. The public is invited to attend.
Members of the Sesquicentennial Commission: Clenece Hills, president; Mary Burchill, chairperson of the Horizons Committee; Bruce Roberts, secretary and William Crowe, treasurer, as well as Parks and Recreation staff will provide comments regarding The Point’s development from idea to reality. Mayor Sue Hack will provide closing remarks, finalizing the dedication. Junkyard Jazz will provide music.
