Thursday, October 25, 2007NATURE CENTER TO DEVELOP SUSTAINABILITY DISPLAY
LAWRENCE – Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St., will soon become a place of education for homeowners interested in sustainable landscaping. Volunteers will develop a display landscaping bed with examples of Earth- friendly, low-impact plantings and maintenance techniques.
Amy Albright and family, Vinland Valley Nursery, local band Truckstop Honeymoon and other friends of the Nature Center raised approximately $600 to fund the project. Development will begin in the remainder of the fall and continue through the spring of 2008.
