LAWRENCE – Celebrate A Month of Sharing with Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department by providing a gift of the holidays with a youngster in the community.
Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department facilities will be collection sites for new, unused, unopened toys. Toys that are collected will be donated to a not-for-profit agency, assisting those in need in the community.
Citizens who would like to participate are asked to bring in a new, unused, unopened toy to any Parks and Recreation Department facility and place it in the decorated, seasonal box located there. Toys will be distributed to children in late December.
New, unused, unopened toys are being collected at the following locations:
The Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr.; Prairie Park Nature Center, 2370 Harper St.; South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St. and the Administrative Office, 947 New Hampshire St.
A Month of Sharing concludes Thursday, Dec. 18, to allow for distribution.
