Wednesday, November 7, 2007SHELETERS AND PARK RESTROOMS CLOSED FOR SEASON
LAWRENCE – The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department announces the season closing of outdoor shelters and park restrooms.
Water at the dog parks, located in Riverfront Park and Mutt Run located on the 1612-leased area at Clinton Lake will also be shut off. The restrooms and shelters are closed during the winter months to avoid water freezing in pipes and for general maintenance.
The shelters and restrooms will open in the spring and reservations will be taken for dates after April 15, 2008, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 2. There are several indoor facilities available for year-round rental to accommodate reception, showers and party needs.
Reservations for outdoor shelters and indoor facilities are taken at any of the community recreation centers including the Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr. and South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St.
