OUTDOOR AQUATIC CENTER OPENS; SUMMER SCHEDULE AT INDOOR AQUATIC CENTER BEGINS
LAWRENCE -Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department announces the opening of the Outdoor Aquatic Center for the summer season.

The Outdoor Aquatic Center, 727 Kentucky St., will open Saturday, May 24. It will be open daily, 1 to 8:45 p.m., May 24 through August 12; except on Friday, July 4 when it is open 1 to 6:45 p.m. Aug. 13-15 it will be open 4 to 8:45 p.m. and Aug 18-Aug. 31 it will be closed Monday through Thursday; open Friday 4 -8:45 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 8:45 p.m. Its last day of availability will be Monday, Sept. 1, from 1-8:45 p.m.

There will also be a morning lap swim available 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday through Saturday, beginning Tuesday, May 27, through Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Outdoor Aquatic Center.

The Indoor Aquatic Center will also switch to its summer hours on Saturday, May 24. The summer hours will be followed through Aug. 4. The summer hours are:

Lap Swimming
Monday through Friday: 5:15 a.m. – 8:45 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. – 8:45 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.

Waterslide and Diving Area
Monday through Saturday: 1 – 8:30 p.m.
Sunday 1 – 5:30 p.m.

Warm Water Workouts
Monday through Thursday: 12 – 1 p.m.

Zero-Depth and Children’s Area
Monday through Saturday: 1 – 8:45 p.m.
Sunday: 1 – 5:45 p.m.

The Carl Knox Natatorium is closed for the summer. It will be closed through Sunday, Sept. 7.
