EAGLE BEND OFFERS JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE FOR AREA YOUNGSTERS
LAWRENCE - Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department.s Eagle Bend Golf Course and Learning Center is now accepting registration for its Junior 9-Hole Golf League open to boys and girls age 12-17 years old.

Tee times are between 3 and 4 p.m. Mondays, June 4-July 9.

The Junior League provides an opportunity for young golfers to compete in a fun atmosphere. Participants are expected to have basic golf skills and knowledge of golf course etiquette. No instruction will be given. Juniors may enter for a one-time fee of $50.

A weekly medalist will be selected for six weeks. Golfers will compete according to gender for low score. The best four scores of the six will count toward stroke advantage, enabling participants to miss up to two weeks of the six-week league, or to eliminate two weak scores from poor rounds and still compete for the season award. Each flight will have a season medalist winner for low round of the season.

The league is open to the first 48 golfers who sign up. Those who wish to join the league may register at Eagle Bend.s pro shop, 1250 E. 902 Rd.

For more information, contact John Morris, golf course operations supervisor, at (785) 748-0600.
