SPACES STILL AVAILABLE IN SUMMER CLASSES FOR KIDS
LAWRENCE – Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is continuing to accept enrollment in children’s classes beginning next week, including Creepy Crawlies, Messy Hands, Tippy Toes, Gotta Dance and the first week of Mini-Munchkin Camp.

Creepy Crawlies, a class for children ages 3-5, is offered from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturdays, June 9- 30, and costs $22. In this art class, children will use a variety of art materials and techniques to create their own wiggly, slimy bugs.

Messy Hands, another art class for children ages 3-4, provides opportunities to play with paints, play dough, shaving cream and glue while learning about colors and shapes. This class is offered from 6-6:45 p.m. Wednesdays, June 6-27, A parent or caregiver is also required to attend. The fee is $22 and all supplies are included. Another section is being offered in July.

Gotta Dance introduces children ages 5-7 to ballet, creative dance and jazz. It is offered from 4:30-5:15 p.m. Thursdays, June 7-July 26, or 10:30-11:15 a.m. Fridays, June 8-July 27. The class fee is $30.

Tippy Toes, a class designed for children ages 2-3, teaches creative movements and dance fundamentals and costs $30. This class is offered 5:30-6 p.m. Thursdays, June 7-July 26. A parent or caregiver is also required to attend.

Mini-Munchkin Camp’s session Summer Extravaganza is a week-long camp for children ages 4-6 that includes field trips, games, music and dance, stories and crafts. The $50 fee covers all activities and includes a T-shirt. The camp runs from 8:30-11:30 a.m. daily from June 4-8.

Enrollment can be completed online at www.lprd.org or at a Lawrence Parks and Recreation facility, including: the Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive; Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St.; the Administrative Offices, 947 New Hampshire St. or South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St.
