Tuesday, May 15, 2007EAGLE BEND TEMPORARILY REDUCED TO NINE HOLES
LAWRENCE- With the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers releasing water from the Clinton Lake Dam, Eagle Bend Golf Course, 1250 E. 902 Rd., will temporarily shut down its back nine holes to play.
With the release, large amounts of water have flowed into creeks connected to the Wakarusa River, running through Eagle Bend. One creek, separating the tee boxes and green on hole 17, will make the cart path impassable and closed for play.
18-hole play will still be available by playing the front-nine holes twice while the back-nine holes are closed during the water release from the dam. Pricing for 18-hole play through Thursday will be reduced to $25 to ride and $20 to walk. Rates for nine-hole play will also be reduced to $15 to ride and $10 to walk.
The entire course is scheduled to be reopen Friday, May 18, for normal weekend play.
For questions or to book a tee time, please contact Eagle Bend at 748-0600.
