Thursday, May 17, 2007COMMUNITY BUILDING GYMNASIUM TO BE CLOSED FOR REFINISHING
LAWRENCE – The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department announces the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St., will close its gymnasium, weight room and locker rooms Monday through Wednesday, May 21 to 23, for floor refinishing.
The Community Building office will remain open and the cardio room and classrooms will be accessible. The building will close at 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, May 21 to 25, instead of 10 p.m. Regular hours will resume the following week.
The department has other gymnasium and weight room facilities, which are open to the public and can be utilized while facilities at the Community Building are closed, including: the East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th St. and Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St.
The hours of operation for those facilities are as follows:
East Lawrence Recreation Center
8 a.m. to 10 p.m. – Monday through Thursday
8 a.m. to 9 p.m. – Fridays
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Saturdays
1 to 6 p.m. – Sundays
Holcom Park Recreation Center
7 a.m. to 10 p.m. – Monday through Thursday
7 a.m. to 9 p.m. – Fridays
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Saturdays
1 to 6 p.m. – Sundays
