STILL TIME TO ENROLL IN SUMMER CLASSES FOR ADULTS
LAWRENCE – Several Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department adult classes in art, dance, fitness, computers and other hobby classes begin next week and still have space available.

Watercolor/Pastel is a class designed for both beginners and advanced artists and is open to individuals ages 16 and older. Students will learn new techniques for painting with watercolors and how to draw using chalk and pastels. The class is offered from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursdays, June 7-July 12, costing $40.

Ballroom Dancing teaches couples, ages 16 and older, the fundamentals of the ChaCha, the Waltz and East Coast Swing. It is being held from 10-11 a.m. or 7-8 p.m. Mondays, June 4-July 23, for $68. A second session is also being offered later in the summer.

Men’s Fitness is a new exercise class designed for men ages 18 and older at any level of fitness. Participants will work on strength, agility and stamina, using fitness equipment. The class is offered 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 5-July 26, for $32. A second session is also being offered later in the summer.

Windows XP Bootcamp teaches the basics of Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003 and other computer skills. It is open to individuals ages 18 and older. It is held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, June 5-July 10, for $60.

Beginning Bridge introduces the beloved card game to individuals ages 18 and older. Bidding, play of the hand and defensive plays will be covered. Cost of the class is $35. The class is being offered 6:45-8:45 p.m. Thursdays, June 7-July 26. Participants will be prepared for online, social and tournament play once the course is completed.
