NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION TO HOLD CELEBRATION FOR CLINTON PARK
LAWRENCE – Pinckney Neighborhood Association will hold a ceremony to celebrate the renovations made in Clinton Park, 901 W. 5th St., at 6 p.m. Friday, June 15. The event is free and open to the public.

Renovations within the park included the construction of a new shelter, restroom facility, sidewalks and landscaped areas. The new shelter was relocated within the park and is larger than its predecessor, featuring a walk out deck area for viewing the park’s stone retaining wall built in 1938 and other park areas.

The celebration will include music by the Euphoria String Band and refreshments. Mayor Sue Hack will also be on hand.

The neighborhood association aided Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department in the design and layout of the renovations, which began last October.

The Clinton Park shelter can be rented through the Recreation Facilities Division for either half-day rentals or full-day rentals. For more information on renting shelters, please contact 832-7920.
