Friday, June 8, 2007INDOOR AQUATIC CENTER TO HOST AQUAHAWKS SWIM MEET FOR AREA YOUTH
LAWRENCE –Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr., will host the annual Lawrence Aquahawks Pentathlon from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, June 9.
The competition will limit lap swimming to one public lane until the event is over. Lap swimming lanes will be made available in the Indoor Aquatic Center warm water lap area from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, and at the Outdoor Aquatic Center, 727 Kentucky St., from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Lawrence Aquahawks is a swimming club for local youth. Members will compete against teams from other cities in the pentathlon. There will be no admission fee for those who wish to watch the meet.
