INDOOR AQUATIC CENTER TO HOST LARGE SWIM MEET
LAWRENCE - Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department's Aquatic Division will host the Wave the Wheat Meet, Thursday-Sunday, July 10-13, at the Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr.

The meet is expected to bring more than 750 swimmers and approximately 1,700 spectators to Lawrence. It is the largest youth competitive swim meet in the Missouri Valley swimming region.

The competition will affect the availability of the Indoor Aquatic Center's lap and leisure pools. The leisure pool will remain open during its regularly scheduled hours Thursday, July 10, with lap swimming available 5:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. The lap pool will be closed from 1 p.m. Thursday though Sunday, July 13. The leisure pool will be closed July 11-13.

However, the Outdoor Aquatic Center, 727 Kentucky St., will be available for public swimming 1 to 8:45 p.m. daily. Public lap swimming is also available 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

This event was formally known as the Roger Hill/Lawrence Aquahawk Swim Meet.
