Tuesday, July 31, 2007INDOOR AQUATIC CENTER TO CLOSE FOR ANNUAL MAINTENANCE
LAWRENCE – Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department announces the closing of the Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr., from Aug. 5 through Aug. 19 for annual maintenance. It will reopen at 5:15 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20.
The annual shutdown allows staff to drain the pools and perform maintenance that cannot be done when the facility is in use.
The Outdoor Aquatic Center, 727 Kentucky St., will remain open from 1 to 8:45 p.m. daily. Lap swimming will be available from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.
All monthly and annual pass holders will have two weeks added to their account at no extra charge, and may still use their pass at the Outdoor Aquatic Center during the time of shutdown.
The Aquatic Division office will remain open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
