Monday, January 12, 2009SELF DEFENSE CLASS TO BE HELD SATURDAY
LAWRENCE – Lawrence Parks and Recreation will hold a self defense class for individuals 13 years old and older, from 2-5 p.m. this Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St.
The class introduces the fundamentals of self-defense and discusses the importance of awareness and risk assessment. Simple, effective physical self-defense techniques are taught to participants in any physical condition.
The class is led by two instructors who have many years of experience teaching martial arts, as well as specific experience teaching self-defense clinics.
Cost of the program is $16 and pre-registration is required.
