LAWRENCE – The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department announces Martin Luther King, Jr. Day hours.
The following are the recreation center hours for Monday, Jan. 19:
- Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St. – 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Community Building, 115 W. 11th St. – 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th St. – 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St. – Office Closed (However, facility will be open for regularly scheduled classes)
- Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St., will be closed.
- The Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr., will maintain regular hours for lap swimming, which are 5:15 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. Warm Water Workout will be held from 12-1 p.m. in the leisure pool. The Zero Depth and Children’s Area will be open 1 to 7:45 p.m. Diving Boards and Water Slide areas will be open from 1 to 7:30 p.m. All aquatic classes will be held as scheduled. Carl Knox Natatorium, 1901 Louisiana St., will also be open from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. for lap swimming. However, the Aquatic Division offices will be closed for the day.
- Eagle Bend Golf Course and Learning Center, 1250 E. 902 Road, will be in operation weather permitting. All recreational classes will be held as scheduled. Youth sport leagues will not be held on the holiday, but adult sport leagues and special population classes will be held as scheduled at the various recreation centers.
