Tuesday, February 17, 2009RAPE AGGRESSION DEFENSE CLASS TO BE HELD
LAWRENCE – Lawrence Parks and Recreation will hold a Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) class for individuals 13 years old and older, from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St.
This self-defense class is designed just for women in all level of physical conditioning. Class members will learn how to develop a defensive mindset, understand offensive and defensive posture and recognize vulnerable locations.
Cost of the program is $55 and pre-registration is required.
Registration for the Rape Aggression Defense Class can be done online at www.lprd.org or by visiting any Parks and Recreation facility including: the Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr.; Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St.; the Administrative Offices, 947 New Hampshire St. or South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St.
