Thursday, December 6, 2007SOCCER/FUTSAL REGISTRATION DEADLINE APPROACHING
LAWRENCE - Children wishing to participate in Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department, Youth Sports Division's indoor soccer/futsal program must be registered by Thursday, Jan. 3. Children who qualify for scholarships must apply by Thursday, Dec. 27, for consideration. Applications are available at Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St.
Boys and girls soccer/futsal leagues are open to children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Players will develop basic soccer skills and learn the fundamentals of fair play, teamwork and sportsmanship. Teams are formed by a child's current grade level and the school he or she attends.
Games will be held on Saturdays, Feb. 2- March 8. The fee to participate is $40 for children in kindergarten through fourth grade, and $50 for children in fifth and sixth grade.
