Monday, Thursday, August 28, 2008NATIONALLY-RECOGNIZED FITNESS WORKSHOPS TO BE HELD
LAWRENCE – Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department and the National Exercise Trainers Association have teamed up to hold two nationally-recognized workshops for the fall session.
Group Exercise Certification will train potential and current fitness instructors the basics in teaching group exercise. The workshop will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. Registration includes a full-day review, written exam and 2-year certificate and membership.
Drums Alive will showcase a high-energy dance and rhythm program combining traditional aerobics and stability ball drumming. It will run from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28. Registration includes a full-day training and specialty certificate.
Both workshops will be held at the Community Building, 115 West 11th St.
