Citizens have several options for enrolling for classes including: registering online, faxing, mailing or visiting a neighborhood recreation center or the Indoor Aquatic Center. Online enrollment can be accessed from a link on the Lawrence Parks and Recreation website at www.lprd.org.

The department has developed over 400 programs and activities in which citizens of all ages may participate this fall. Programs and activities range from swim lessons to dance, from adult volleyball to computer classes. Fall classes begin the week of Sept. 7.

All program registration is done on a first-come, first-serve basis. Certain classes and programs have minimum or maximum enrollment. Registration is required before the first class. Waiting lists will be formed when programs are filled and every attempt will be made to accommodate people on waiting lists.

Discounts are available for adults over 60 years of age for a majority of classes, and the department also has a youth scholarship program for those needing assistance with payment. Scholarship applications are available at all recreation centers. No one meeting scholarship criteria will be denied participation in any department program.
