LAWRENCE – Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Outdoor Aquatic Center, 727 Kentucky St., is going to the dogs! The Fifth Annual Pooch Plunge will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
The Pooch Plunge provides local dogs the opportunity to go for a dip while their owners learn about Pet CPR and safety from the Douglas County Chapter American Red Cross. Local businesses will also have information booths at the pool.
All dogs must have proof of current shots the day of the event, and must remain under their owner’s control at all times. The fee for the event is $4 per dog. Registration will be available at the door, but owners may also pre-register online at www.lprd.org. There will be no charge for spectators.
For more information, contact Jai Hoyer, aquatics programmer, 832-7946.
